In the period of land. In the period of King Zhouliwang (857-842 B.C.), Xiong Zhi, the descendant of Xiongyi , was nominated as an official to Xingshan for building Gaoyang City. Zigui was under South County in Qin and Dynasties, In Yong An 3rd year of Wujing Emperor in three Kindoms (260 A.C.), the north of Zigui was divied as Xingshan Country , Lasting for 1,743 years.

       In the western Han Dynasty , Wang Zhaojun voluntarily requested to marry Hun in the north, and had made important contrbutins to the tran-quility of the border area and the unity of nationalities, Li Laiheng, the peasant uprising leader at the late Ming Dynasty led the people in persisting the fighting for 13 years, in the Revolution of 1911, persons of ideals and integrity from Xingshan, namely Gao shanzhi ,Sun shaoqi, Chen Guang`an, Jia Yehong, Xing Yi Yuwen, etc. took part in the revolution. In the 2nd –time revolution (namely Agrarian Revolution War), Baxing Prvolutionary Agrarian Revolution War), Baxing Revolutionary Area created by Chinese Communist Party was one of Hunan-Hubei western bases led by He Long, in 1928 it had also set up Xingshan Country Party Committee. In the War-of-Resistance-Against Japan, Xingshan was the front battlefield directly defending Chongqing, Xingshan people had made huge contributions to the victory of War-of-Resistance-Against Japan. On August 6,1949,the People`s Liberation Army liberated Xingshan, from then on, Xingshan People have composed new chapter in the modernization construction of socialism.
