Xingshan County is located in the reservoir areas of the Three Gorges project .l county seat, 4 towns,62 industrial and mining enterprises,over 20,000 people and 1.5 million m2 housing must be moved.
      The county was moved wholly by the end of September 2002.The removal and liquidation of reservoir below the waterline was finished in May 2003.The settlement of immigrants in villages in the reservoir areas moves on quickly.2,597 of them has been removed and settled；2，974 have been settled for production，1，047 have moved to other structural 125,100m2 new housing has been built . The removal of enterprises and their structural adjustment has made obvious progress . 43 .12 kilometers of railways have been rebuilt ;6 bridges have been completed and the docks in the narrows have been put into operation.The geological disaster treatment and water pollution prevention is being carried out.The third period of removal of immigrants with Gaoyang Town at its core has been started thorughly.
